PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flue and smoke tube boiler capable of reducing the frequency of maintenance. SOLUTION: In this flue and smoke tube boiler in which a flue 2 of lateral attitude and a plurality of smoke tubes 3 of lateral attitude are vertically arranged in a can body 1 storing the water as a heated object, while positioning the flue 2 at its lower part, and a combustion gas flow chamber 4 for guiding a combustion gas discharged from a combustion gas outlet section 2e of the flue 2 to a combustion gas inlet section 3i of the smoke tube 3 is connected to the can body 1, a plurality of tubular bodies 6 for applying resistance to the flow of combustion gas discharged from the combustion gas outlet section 2e of the flue 2 are disposed in the combustion gas flow chamber 4 while being arranged in the width direction of the combustion gas outlet section 2e with a vertical posture of which the longitudinal direction is the vertical direction while circulating the cooling water inside.
