<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating capable of retaining soil for planting plants along the vertical direction in a shape of a three-dimensionally high degree of freedom, and coating the outside of the soil. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A coating composition for coating the outer surface of soil for planting plants contains natural vegetable fiber and pulp. A supporting member which is placed on a placing surface for supporting the soil has a longitudinal member whose lower surface contacts the placing surface and which is formed to extend upward, and a plate-like transverse member which is attached to the vertical member so as to project the upper surface supporting the soil to the horizontal direction.
