摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a dot formed by preliminary discharge from affecting the recording quality of an image, when executing the preliminary discharge not concerned in recording of the image to a recording medium by a recording head.

SOLUTION: A preliminary discharge area on the recording medium is defined based on a command (Raster Skip command) indicating the presence of empty continuous rasters transmitted from an external device that is a supply source of an image data.
