<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle guide direction detecting device capable of making a vehicle travel in a smooth locus along a sign belt, and simplifying a configuration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vehicle 12 is made to travel along a magnetized belt 13 laid on a floor surface 11. An oblong magnetic body 17 is arranged in the vehicle 12 so as to be rotatable within a surface in parallel with the travelling surface. The magnetic body 17 supports a magnetic sensor 19 for detecting a magnetic flux passing through the magnetic body 17. The guide direction of the vehicle 12 is controlled by determining the laying direction of the magnetized belt 13, on the basis of phase change in magnetic flux intensity which is detected by the magnetic sensor 19.
