<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device provided with a cooling duct, which can efficiently cool an exposure lamp even when a carriage is positioned in a through read position by one cooling fan, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Both ends of the exposure lamp are cooled by the air flow from a plurality of slanted cooling sections which are formed at angles; a central section in the longitudinal direction of the exposure lamp is cooled by the air flow from the front surface cooling section which is provided in parallel to the direction of the air flow which is generated by the cooling fan; and the exposure lamp is cooled by deflecting the air flow from the lower cooling section which is arranged below the front surface cooling section by a reflection mirror for the carriage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
