<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor to which an unbalance correction mechanism is fixed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A spindle motor 10A includes rotating bodies (22, 31) bonded to a motor shaft 21 and having a substantially annular recess 31e for internally containing balls formed coaxially with the motor shaft 21, and a plurality of balance balls 33 which are contained movably in the recess for containing balls so that they are restricted to the inner circumferential side of the recess for containing balls during low speed rotation of the rotating bodies and moved to the outer circumferential side of the recess for containing balls during high speed rotation of the rotating bodies, wherein the recess 31e for containing balls has portions 32a for restricting the plurality of balance balls 33 during low speed rotation of the rotating bodies formed along an inner circumference over a predetermined angular range, and when the rotating bodies are bonded to the motor shaft while inclining, the portions 32a for restricting the balls are set on the side of a position where a virtual line K orthogonal to the motor shaft 21 touches the highest part of a height measuring surface (31a) in the rotating bodies (22, 31).
