PURPOSE: A display substrate and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the recognition of a key pattern for an exposure device by forming an aligning groove. CONSTITUTION: A display substrate includes a signal line, a thin film transistor, a key pattern(120), a shielding pattern, a color filter(130), a pixel electrode and an aligning key(150). The signal line is formed on a substrate, and the thin film transistor is connected to the signal line electrically. The key pattern is formed on the substrate. The shielding pattern is formed on the substrate to cover the signal line, thin transistor and the key pattern. The color filter is formed within a unit pixel of the substrate. The pixel electrode is formed on the color filter and is electrically connected to the thin film transistor, and the aligning key is formed on the shielding pattern to correspond to the key pattern.
