PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: a table is set only when a backrest is brought down, nail work and hair treatment work such as cutting the hair can not be performed in the state, and a place to put the table is needed when not utilizing the table, since the purpose is improvement in the armrest state of a person to be operated and an increase in the area of the backrest in a handrail in a conventional chair for hairdressing. SOLUTION: The chair for hairdressing provided with a multipurpose variable handrail includes: a chair frame 1 to which a seat part 2 and the backrest 3 are attached; a pair of rotary plates 61 attached so as to be swung in a horizontal direction to both sides of the chair frame; support columns 7 attached to the ends of the respective rotary plates; and the table 9 freely rotatably attached to the respective support columns.
