PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator coil capable of preventing an insulating layer from being swollen up to the vicinity of the end of a fixed core in a coil end exposed outside the stator core of the stator coil in the stator coil of a rotary electric machine that performs insulation processing with the full impregnation system. SOLUTION: The stator coil of a rotary electric machine is subjected to insulation processing in which the stator coil with a main insulating layer configured by winding a tape insulating material around the entire strand coil is mounted on a slot of the stator core and an insulating resin is impregnated and cured in that state, wherein a conductive tape or sheet using a heat-shrinkable tape or sheet as a base material is so wound around the circumference of a main insulation in the stator coil as to form a slot corona preventive layer extending up to the outside of the slot.
