A coater enabling the prevention of occurrence of bubble marks on a base when the base is coated with a coating agent. Before the base (2) at least the outer surface of which is irregular is coated with the liquid coating agent (P2), a low-viscosity liquid (solvent P1) with a lower viscosity than the coating agent is applied to the base within the area coated with the coating agent. The low-viscosity liquid (P1) is desirably a liquid having compatibility with the coating agent (P2).
