PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition for an internal combustion engine being excellent in fuel economy-saving property using a friction modifier not containing sulfur, phosphorous and a metal component. SOLUTION: The lubricant composition for the internal combustion engine contains a lubricant base oil comprising a mineral oil and/or a synthetic oil, and 0.1-5 mass% of an ester obtained by polymerizing a 8-30C straight or branched aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid.
