CONSTITUTION:In combination of a light projecting element 2 and a light receiving element 2 being different from combination of light projecting and receiving elements of a regular distance measuring visual field, in the case of a distance view through glass, light subjected to diffused reflection a little irradiates a light receiving element 11 and light receiving power is small. Accordingly, the output of an output level deciding means of a distance measuring arithmetic means 19 is an L level, but the output of its integral level deciding means becomes an H level. A distance measuring information evaluating means 21 can detect a distant view photographing state through glass by evaluating the output of this integral level deciding means. Also, in this case, a distance being suitable for distant view photographing is selected without being based on a result of measurement by combination of regular Light projecting and receiving elements.
