<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality measuring instrument of water capable of continuously and stably performing the quality measurement of water for a long period of time by eliminating the adverse effect of dew condensation on the quality measurement of water. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The quality measuring instrument of water includes an exciting light emitter 1 for emitting exciting light for irradiating sample water (S), a fluorescence detector 4 for measuring the intensity of the fluorescence emitted from the sample water (S) by irradiating the sample water (S) with exciting light and a measuring part 10. The measuring part 10 is composed of the exciting light irradiation part 3 and the fluorescence receiving part 6 both of which are covered with a measuring dark room to be arranged in the vicinity of a measuring tank 8 in which the sample water (S) is put and connected to the exciting light emitter 1 and the fluorescence detector 4 through optical fibers 2 and 5. The sample water (S) is irradiated with the exciting light from the exciting light emitter 1 and the intensity of the fluorescence emitted from the sample water (S) is measured by the fluorescence detector 4 to be converted to the quality index of the sample water (S).
