The method involves applying a filling material (16) on sides (7, 10) such that casing surfaces (15) of electrically conductive contact elements (13) are surrounded by the filling material. An electrically conductive adhesive (18) is applied on front sides (14a) and/or contact surfaces (8, 12) without the contact elements. A radiation converter (4) and an electronic component (9) e.g. application specific integrated circuit, are connected in such a manner that the contact surfaces face each other and the contact elements are electrically conductively connected with each other by the adhesive. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of a radiation detector for detection of X-ray or gamma radiation.
