HID BALLAST WITH INTEGRATED VOLTAGE MULTIPLIER AND LAMP TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION

An HID ballast (400) with a voltage multiplier and lamp temperature compensation. The ballast (400) includes a temperature compensation circuit (411) and a processing unit (413). The temperature compensation circuit (411) detects a voltage across a compensating capacitor (C1) and transmits a compensation signal based on the voltage. The capacitor (C1) is charged with a lamp voltage that is a function of the lamp temperature. The processing unit (413) receives the compensating signal and drives the lamp (405) based on the compensating signal.
