The electric motor has a water conduit tube (1). A drive shaft (8) is supported by a front sliding bearing (5) in the tube (1). A rotor (9) of the motor and a bearing plate (4) are provided at the front of the tube. The bearing plate carries the sliding bearing and has an outlet for part of the advancing fluid of the pump. A removal unit (14) is associated with the outlet. This is made of permanent magnet material to remove magnetic particles from the pump fluid penetrating into the tube, to save the rotor (9).
