<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change subscanning-direction image forming speed in a stable state. <P>SOLUTION: When performing exposure for a plurality of lines, that is, M lines in parallel by scanning an image carrier in a main scanning direction with a plurality of laser beams, a control part performs control of image formation in a first image forming mode in which image data for M lines is read out from a storage part for each scanning period, the exposure is performed by driving parallel light sources of M lines in accordance with the image data for M lines read out, and image formation is performed at the predetermined subscanning-direction image forming speed VM; and in a second image forming mode in which image data for N (N<M) lines is read out from the storage part, the exposure is performed by driving the parallel light sources of M lines in accordance with the image data for N lines read out and blank data for M-N lines, and image formation is performed at subscanning-direction image forming speed VN (VN=VM*(N/M)). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
