A hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane is provided which can be used in various treatments of aqueous fluids, such as a water purification, beverage treatment, and seawater clarification. The membrane has excellent fractionation characteristics and permeability and, despite this, is inhibited from decreasing in performance with time. The membrane is excellent in the property of recovering membrane separation characteristics through cleaning. The hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane is characterized in that the membrane surface on the side to which a raw water is supplied has a specific surface area of 1.10-1.55. Also provided is a process for producing a hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane, characterized by subjecting a hollow-fiber ultrafiltration membrane in the state of having a residual organic solvent content of 300 mg/g or lower to a heat treatment.
