发明名称 SECONDARY SEALING METHOD OF CERAMIC ARC TUBE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary sealing method of a ceramic arc tube capable of improving productivity of a mercury-free arc tube by reducing the number of components used for secondary sealing of the arc tube, simplifying secondary sealing work, and reducing a secondary sealing process time. SOLUTION: In this secondary sealing method of an arc tube for inserting and holding a secondary electrode 15 into/to the other end side of the ceramic arc tube 12 with one end side having a primary side electrode 15 inserted therein sealed, and sealing the other end side while keeping the inside of the tube 12 in a predetermined pressure atmosphere of a starting rare gas, a positioning lock projection 16 locked to a tube end is formed at a base end of the secondary electrode 15; a communication passage t1 for the inside and outside of the tube is formed between the tube end and the lock projection 16; the inside of a chamber 30 with the arc tube 12 housed therein is kept in a high-pressure atmosphere of the starting rare gas; a sealing base material 19 interposed between the tube end and an electrode base end is irradiated with light including infrared light through a translucent window 45 of the chamber 30 to seal the tube end by melting the sealing base material 19. By obviating the need of a sealing member required for a conventional method, simplifying a secondary sealing process, and reducing a secondary sealing process time, productively of the arc tube is improved.
