SMALL DUAL BAND MONOPOLE ANTENNA USING METAMATERIAL STRUCTURE

A small dual band monopole antenna using a metamaterial structure is provided to improve a gain and efficiency by forming a resonant frequency of the dual band through the metamaterial structure. A small dual band monopole antenna includes a coaxial probe(100), a monopole antenna(200), a metamaterial structure(300), and a feeding pad(400). The coaxial probe feeds the radio frequency signal. The monopole antenna radiates the high frequency transmitted through the coaxial probe. The metamaterial structure has a negative dielectric constant. The metamaterial structure performs inductive loading through the coupling with the monopole antenna. The feeding pad is formed between the monopole antenna and the coaxial probe in order to match the radiation resistance of the monopole antenna with the input impedance of the coaxial probe.
