PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone with which its user selects a desired icon easily irrespective of any display form of a display object. SOLUTION: A portable telephone for displaying a predetermined display object in both first and second display forms, includes: a liquid crystal display screen 2; keyboards 3A and 3B which are formed at places corresponding to selective icons 4A, 4B displayed at a first display portion in the liquid crystal display screen 2 in the first display form; side-keyboards 6A and 6B which are formed at places corresponding to selective icons 4A, 4B displayed at the second display portion in the liquid crystal display screen 2 in the second display form; and a function allocation means which allocates a function for selecting the selective icons 4A, 4B to the keyboards 3A and 3B when display form is the first form, and allocates a function for selecting the selective icons 4A, 4B to the side-keyboards 6A and 6B when display form is the second form.
