PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems wherein piezoelectric elements, when used in a bi-pitch structure, are difficult to arrange densely and are liable to cause interference in lifting a channel member when used in a normal pitch structure. SOLUTION: A liquid discharge head comprises a channel plate 1 provided with a plurality of liquid chambers 6 respectively communicating with a plurality of arrayed nozzles 4 for discharging droplets, a diaphragm member 3 having vibration areas 3a forming at least part of the wall surfaces of the liquid chambers 6, a plurality of piezoelectric columns 12A for deforming the respective vibration areas 3a of the diaphragm member 3 corresponding to the liquid chambers 6, columns 12B corresponding to adjacent liquid chamber bulkheads 11, and a base member 13 mounted with the plurality of piezoelectric columns 12A and columns 12B.
