<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional film of cellulose ester excellent in optical properties and surface properties by resolving conventional troubles of a cellulose ester film produced via a film formation method using a melting state, as well as to provide a polarizing plate using it and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: This functional film has a hard coat layer on a surface of the cellulose ester film produced via a film formation method using a melting state, wherein the cellulose ester film contains 0.05-2.0 mass% of at least one from among glycerol fatty acid ester, diglycerol fatty acid ester and sorbitan fatty acid ester, and the hard coat layer contains an organic solvent of 20-45 mass% having a solubility parameter of 18.5-21 (MPa)<SP>1/2</SP>in its coating solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
