PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device which can remote-control a remote controlled object intuitively and easily. SOLUTION: The remote control device 1 includes an auto propelling vehicle 100, a controller 200, and processing units 140 and 240. The auto propelling vehicle 100 is equipped with an orientation sensor 120 to sense an orientation of a second orientation reference point 102 from a first orientation reference point 101. The controller 200 includes an orientation sensor 220 to sense an orientation of a fourth orientation reference point 202 from a third orientation reference point 201, and an operation lever 260 to provide a direction to move the auto propelling vehicle 100 from the third orientation reference point 201 as a base point, to the processing unit 240. The processing units 140 and 240 control the auto propelling vehicle 100 to move toward a moving direction from the first orientation reference point 101 as a base point, based on the orientation sensed by the orientation sensor 120, the orientation sensed by the orientation sensor 220, and the moving direction provided by the operation lever 260.
