<p>A method and an apparatus of processing natural gas for use in a gas engine provide fuel having improved qualities such as a low methane value, a low knocking propensity and a high output and also provide a gas engine igniting medium having improved qualities such as high combustibility and high pressure compressibility due to low energy. A method of processing natural gas for use in a gas engine comprises at least partially separating high hydrocarbons(14) from a natural gas mixture(10), and providing the gas engine with a residual natural gas mixture(16) as fuel(18). The method comprises at least partially separating the high hydrocarbons from a newly coming natural gas mixture by membrane separation(12). The method comprises at least partially separating the high hydrocarbons from the newly coming natural gas mixture by pressurization condensation. The method comprises removing the high hydrocarbons from the newly coming natural gas mixture by a multi-step process. The method comprises liquefying the separated high hydrocarbons to provide the gas engine with the liquefied high hydrocarbons as an ignition medium(22).</p> |
