Thick and thin yarn and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture the yarn with a conventional spin-draw method without a separate additional facility. Thick and thin yarn has a cross-sectional shape in which a polyethylene terephthalate copolymer and a polyethylene terephthalate of low molecular weight are welded to a side by side shape. The yarn has specific load of 30~45%, intensity of 3.3~3.7g/d and a uniformity ratio of 2.5~6.0%. The number average molecular weight the polyethylene terephthalate of the low molecular weight is 10,000~20,000. A crystallization constraint ingredient is one or more selected among isophthalic acid, neopentyl glycol, cyclohexanedimethanol and adipic acid.
