PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallocene compound for olefin polymerization, and to provide a method for olefin polymerization in the presence of a catalyst comprising the above compound. SOLUTION: The crosslinked metallocene compound is represented by e.g. formula 1 (wherein, R1to R4are each selected from H, a hydrocarbon group, silicon-containing group, heteroatom-containing group and halogen atom-containing group, wherein all of R1to R4are not H atoms simultaneously, at least one of R1to R4being ethyl or the like; M is selected from Ti, Zr and Hf; Q is a halogen atom, hydrocarbon group or the like; R5and R6are each a hydrocarbon group, halogen atom-containing group or the like; j is an integer of 1-4; and Y is a silicon atom or the like).
