A step-down DC-DC converter is provided to improve efficiency by removing a short circuit current through a low power buffer. A soft start part(100) compares an output voltage with a reference voltage, and controls operations of an inner switch. An error amplifying part(200) amplifies an error between the output voltage of the soft start part and a feedback voltage of a low pass filter part. A pulse generating part(300) receives an output of the error amplifying part, and generates a pulse signal. A low power buffer part(400) receives a pulse signal from the pulse generating part, and outputs an ON/OFF control signal. A power switch part(500) receives the ON/OFF control signal of the low power buffer part, and outputs a switching output signal. A low pass filter part(600) removes a radio frequency noise according to the switching output signal of the power switch part, and regularly maintains the output voltage.
