This structural member (2) comprises a tubular body formed of two cross-members (4, 6) and two uprights (8, 10), while four transition zones (Z 1 , Z 4 ) are formed in the vicinity of the corners (C 1 -C 4 ) defined by the intersections between the principal axes (X 1 , X 2 , Y 1 , Y 2 ) of these uprights and these cross-members, each transition zone being tubular, being connected or designed to be connected mechanically to a respective upright and/or cross-member (23, 33).
