<p>An impact absorbing device and an elevator having the same are provided to minimize damage by reducing an external force by the air pressure when the elevator falls. An impact absorbing device(10) includes a housing(11), first and second tubes(12,13), a piston(14), and an elastic member(15). One side of the housing is opened. The first and second tubes are arranged in the housing. A first vent and a second vent are formed in the first and second tubes. A piston reciprocates linearly inside the first and second tubes. The piston is inserted into the housing by the external force. The piston discharges the air inside the housing through the first vent and the second vent. The elastic member is mounted in the first and second tubes to guide the return of the piston.</p> |
