PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information relay system which prevents an unauthorized use by dynamically changing an encryption key while reducing a user's effort for the authentication of a communication terminal, with respect to information transmission/reception using a LAN, and a communication terminal. SOLUTION: The information relay system wherein communication terminals connected to the LAN are used to relay information transmission/reception performed through the LAN and a wide area network connected to the LAN includes: a first holding means which holds first collation information collated with first identification information held in a communication terminal which is updated on the basis of a prescribed condition; an updating means which updates the first collation information synchronously with updating the first identification information; a first acquisition means which automatically acquires the first identification information through the LAN; a first collation means which collates the first identification information acquired by the first acquisition means with the first collation information; and an information control means which allows a relay of information transmission/reception using the communication terminal in the case of coincidence between the first identification information and the first collation information in the collation of the first collation means.
