PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate obtaining a route favored by a driver by switching the standard for calculating a route in a specific area such as around the driver's home in the technology of a navigation system. SOLUTION: A navigation means 20 sequentially calculates the location of an automobile and calculates the route to a target based on a cost parameter set for a road, and the area setting means 30 receives the setting for a specific area as a desired area. The location of the specific area as well as a first cost parameter group set for each category of the roads outside the specific area and a second cost parameter group set for each category of the road in the specific area are recorded in a memory means 40. A parameter selection means 50 selects, as the cost parameter to be used for a navigation means 20, the first cost parameter group outside the specific area, and selects either the first cost parameter group or the second cost parameter group within the specific area.
