PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording/reproducing device capable of limiting viewing with excellent convenience. SOLUTION: The DSP 32 of an HDD recorder 100 includes: a viewing limitation storage part 329 for storing viewing limitation time zone information which is a time zone to inhibit display of video information on a display and viewing limitation execution propriety information indicating whether or not to limit viewing in the viewing limitation time zone; a time determination part 322 for determining whether or not the present time is included in the viewing limitation time zone when the viewing limitation execution propriety information stored in the viewing limitation storage part 329 is the information indicating that viewing is to be limited; and a viewing limitation execution part 323 for inhibiting display on the display by interrupting the output to the display of the video information read by a read part 321 when it is determined by the time determination part 322 that the present time is included in the viewing limitation time zone.
