PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bank bill processing machine which uses a bank bill storage cassette capable of more improving operability and storage efficiency in an empty state of the storage cassette. SOLUTION: The machine includes a bank bill storage cassette 3 having a bag body 42 which is made of cloth and capable of being easily transformed into any direction, a frame body 43 to be mounted to an opening portion of the bag body 42, and a shutter 53 for opening and closing an inlet 52 inside of the frame body 43, and being capable of storing a bank bill in the bag body 42 via the inlet 52 of the frame body 43 while the shutter 53 is open, and a processing machine body 2 having rolling-up means 87 for contracting the bag body 42 by rolling up a belt body 74, and rolling-up controlling means for controlling roll-up of the belt body 74 by the rolling-up means 87, and further has storage amount calculating means for calculating the storage amount of bank bill in the bank bill storage cassette 3, wherein the rolling-up controlling means work to shorten the time for rolling up the belt body 74 by the rolling-up means 87 as the storage amount of the bank bill increases based on a calculation result of the storage amount calculating means.
