HEADSET

A headset configurable in a first configuration to be worn by a user such that speaker means is proximate an ear of the user and in a second configuration for use as a loudspeaker. The headset includes control means to ensure that the speaker means is in the first mode when the headset is in the first configuration, the volume in the second mode being generally greater than that of the first mode when in use. Control means includes means for detecting when the headset is in the first configuration and/or in the second configuration. In the second configuration two ear-cups of the headset abut and/or are connected to one another such that the ear-cups cannot be positioned over the ears of a user.
