<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detector which can enhance reliability of detection. <P>SOLUTION: The current detector 3 can determine whether the current value is abnormal in a current path connecting a power supply 1 and a load 2 or an abnormality has occurred in a current detection circuit 4A or a current detection circuit 4B by comparing the detection results from the current detection circuit 4A and the current detection circuit 4B with a determining means 31. When the detection results from the current detection circuit 4A and the current detection circuit 4B are contradictory, it can be determined that the abnormality has occurred in the current detection circuit 4A or the current detection circuit 4B.
