Mortar-applying device (1) for applying a thin layer of mortar to one side of several adjacent stones (3), especially vertically perforated stones, is moved in a direction (s) and comprises a filling opening (5) and a discharge opening (4). The discharge opening is limited below by a rotating mortar roller (6) which does not touch the stones and above by a device adjusting the thickness of the mortar layer. Preferred Features: The mortar roller is driven by at least one driving wheel (7) connected to the housing of the mortar-applying device and in contact with the stones.
