The device has contact rollers (2, 2a-2e) forming a roller adjusting arrangement with five straightening rollers and formed corresponding to cross section of a metal strand (1), where the contact rollers are fixedly arranged and are adjustable. An energized component is formed as a contact block, and one of the contact rollers has contact coating, where the contact coating has increased abrasion resistance and/or heat conductivity. The contact block electrically and directly contacts with the contact coating, and a cooling system contains heat exchangers.
