A putting practice device 2 includes a ball storage channel 3 disposed on a flat surface and defining a slot (32, fig. 3) for receiving golf balls 8. A side of the ball channel 3 comprises an upright surface 324, a lower end of which defines a side of a putting path 62. In use, a golf ball is pushed by a putter head 92 to drop from the channel 3 onto the path 62 (see fig. 6), and the putter head 92 is moved along the path to strike the golf ball in the longitudinal direction 200, during which movement the heel of the putter head 92 moves along the heel-engaging surface 324. The apparatus may include upright calibration rods 42 extending from a base member 41, and a golfer may abut the striking face of the putter against the rods 42 to obtain correct orientation of the striking face prior to using the practice device. The ball channel 3 may curve upwardly from a notched middle part such that balls on the channel may roll towards and come to rest beside the notch through which they may be pushed onto the path 62 using the putter head. The apparatus may include a target 5 towards which the balls are stroked. |
