<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable electrostatic latent image bearing member which stably suppresses rise in residual potential and enables a high contrast electrostatic latent image to be formed in a high-temperature and high-humidity environment and a low-temperature and low-humidity environment, suppresses background soiling by a function to block charge injection from a support, and can stably perform high-quality image formation with excellent durability over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic electrostatic latent image bearing member is obtained by stacking a charge blocking layer 203, an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer 202 in this order on a conductive support 201, wherein each of the charge blocking layer and the intermediate layer contains a binder resin and metal oxide fine particles. The metal oxide fine particles contained in the charge blocking layer are conductive fine particles represented by the formula: M<SB>x</SB>Sb<SB>y</SB>O<SB>z</SB>(wherein M represents a metal element, and x, y and z represent a molar ratio of each element), and a volume ratio of the metal oxide fine particles contained in the charge blocking layer is not over a volume ratio of the metal oxide fine particles contained in the intermediate layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
