PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a discharge lamp lighting device which can stably secure a controlled power source voltage by continuously operating a converter. SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting device comprises a winding for generating a controlled power source voltage jointly formed to an inductance of either one of a converter boosting full-wave rectified voltage by turning on and off a switching element with high frequency, or a converter restraining the current to the discharge lamp; a discharge lamp voltage detection means; and a discharge lamp current detection means. When the detected current or voltage of the discharge lamp get out of a prescribed range, the discharge lamp is turned off, and an on-duty of the switching element is made smaller than the off-duty when the detected current and voltage of the discharge lamp stay within the prescribed range. |
