<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charger for a electric system, which improves the accuracy of residual capacity, and also to provide a charging method. <P>SOLUTION: ECU executes a program which includes steps of: (S110 and S120) discharging a battery pack when an external power source is connected to a charger (YES in S100); (S116 and S126) stopping the discharge of the battery pack when the residual capacity of the battery pack drops to a reset value (YES in S114 and YES in S124); and (S130) charging the battery pack after the residual capacity drops down to the reset value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
