<p>A hybrid electric vehicle (10) includes an engine (22) and motors (MG1, MG2) as drive sources. A hybrid ECU (70) outputs a control signal to an engine ECU (24) and a motor ECU (40) so that an engine (22) performs an intermittent operation by alternately repeating an operation period and halt period and a motor (MG1 or MG2) generates electricity by the engine (22) in the operation period. When the vehicle velocity is smaller than a predetermined threshold value, the motor ECU (40) sets a carrier frequency of an inverter (41 or 42) in the halt period lower than a carrier frequency of the inverter (41 or 42) in the operation period.</p> |
