PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which can prevent a player's excitement and enjoyment of a game from being deteriorated while clearly showing the result of a lottery by the display of auxiliary symbols. SOLUTION: The game machine includes: the main control board 710 with a special symbol lottery means 900; a special symbol display control means 702 for deriving special symbols on a special symbol display device 84 from the result of the lottery by the special symbol lottery means 900; a performance lottery means 960 which determines a performance pattern from information on the special symbols received from the main control board 710; an auxiliary symbol processing means 964 for determining the display of the auxiliary symbols from the special symbols and the display mode; a peripheral control board 810 with a performance control means 962 for determining a performance background mode having a symbol display area and a performance display area and the display mode comprising the auxiliary symbols to be displayed in the symbol display area and decoration symbols to be displayed in the performance display area; and a display device control board 816 which derives the display mode on the performance display device by a command received from the performance control means 962.
