Developer forming a magnetic brush 7 on a cylinder 6 is replenised by vibration of a hopper 9, the free end 13a of a developer pushing member 13 which extends into and is secured externally of the hopper ejecting developer through openings 11. The hopper pivots about a shaft 8 and is vibrated by rotation of member 17 carrying abutments 16 which successively engage and disengage the tip 14a of an arm 14 secured to the hopper. A spring- loaded slidable operating member 15 is biased to engage the arm 14 unless a push-button connected to the member is depressed, the profiled upper surface of member 15 then permitting tip 14a to be positioned inside the rotational path of abutments 16. Member 17 is rotated by a chain drive from the electro-photographic apparatus, and depression of the push-button actuates a micro-switch to cause rotation of the cylinder 6 which normally only rotates upon feed of printing paper 2. |
