<p>Epoxy/amine thermosetting compsns. for prodn. of mouldings, sintering powders, coatings, adhesives and pre-impregnated materials, comprises (a) a chlorinated p- and/or m-xylyene-diamine of formula (I) and (b) one or more epoxy cpds. of epoxy equiv. >1. The compsn. combines a high Tg or a high Marten's degree with good flexibility and elasticity. For example mouldings obtd. from tetrachloro-m-xylylene-diamine and Bisphenol A diglycidyl ether have Tg of 155 degrees C Martens' degree of up to 147 degrees C and a resilience of 32KJ/m2. Mouldings obtd. using non-halogenated m-xylylene diamine have a thermal dimensional stability of only 115 degrees C.</p> |
