PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding contact material with superior wear resistance by adding In and other specified elements to a Pd-Ag-Cu alloy. CONSTITUTION:To an alloy consisting of 30-50wt% Pd, 20-40wt% Ag and 20-40wt% Cu are added 1-10wt% In and 0.1-3wt% at least one among Si, Zr, Bi, Ge and Ga without changing the ratio in the composition. To the alloy may be further added 0.01-0.5wt% Fe group metal such as Ni. When the resulting alloy is used as a sliding contact material, especially as a brush contact material, the contact material has superior wear resistance and low contact resistance, so it produces little powder owing to wear and generates very little noise. |
