<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas treatment method which is capable of surely detoxifying a gas to be treated including chlorine without using an alkali medicine and which has extremely high treatment efficiency and is excellent in economical efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In the gas treatment method to introduce and pyrolytically decompose the gas to be treated including chlorine within a reactor 16 heated with an electric heater 18, the method is characterized by introducing a lower saturated hydrocarbon gas F mixed with a theoretical air amount of air or less into the reactor 16, pyrolytically decomposing the gas E to be treated by maintaining the temperature in the reactor 16 to the ignition temperature or more of the lower saturated hydrocarbon gas F and then washing an exhaust gas G generated by the pyrolysis. Thus, the chlorine in the exhaust gas G can be converted to hydrogen chloride and the chlorine component can be removed simply and surely from the exhaust gas by washing the same. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
