MAGNETIC HEAD SLIDER AND MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a scratch on a magnetic disk surface and head crash due to contact of a magnetic head slider with a magnetic disk when loading the magnetic head slider and irregular collision of the magnetic head slider with the magnetic disk in a magnetic disk device having a load/unload mechanism. SOLUTION: A flow-in side shallow groove surface 3a is formed on an air flow-in end side of a bearing surface 8 of a slider 1 and a pair of flow-in side floating surfaces 2a and 2b are formed in the rear side thereof. Side rail shallow groove surfaces 6 extended close to an air flow-out end are formed on both sides of the rear sides of the flow-in side floating surfaces and a center floating surface 2c provided with a magnetic head 5 is formed in a center part on the air flow-out end side. A center shallow groove surface 3b is formed on the flow-in side of the center floating surface 2c. A deep groove surface 4 is formed at a center part of the bearing surface 8. Side pads 7 having the same heights as the flow-in side floating surfaces 2a and 2b and the center floating surface 2c and small areas are formed on the flow-out sides of the side rail shallow groove surfaces 6.
