<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a decrease in luminance by optimizing threshold voltage correcting operation on pixels. <P>SOLUTION: A switching transistor Tr3 turns on according to a control signal AZ1 supplied from a scan line AZ1 prior to a sampling period to charge the source S of a drive transistor Trd to a potential Vini. A switching transistor Tr2 turns on according to a control signal AZ2 supplied from a scan line AZ2 to set the gate G of the drive transistor Trd to a potential Vofs. A switching transistor Tr4 turns on according to a control signal DS supplied from a scan line DS to connect the drive transistor Trd to a potential Vcc and make a holding capacitor Cs hold a voltage corresponding to the threshold voltage Vth of the drive transistor Trd, thereby correcting an influence of the threshold voltage Vth.
